Violin instruction with Teo Benson
At Halcyon, we provide private cello lessons and private violin lessons in English and Spanish to students of all ages and levels, with specific focus on children from the ages of 5-18. We have years of experience with this age group and have particularly had success turning talented young people into successful college-level musicians. In addition, we provide less committed students with an enjoyable and positive experience and skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.
There are monthly masterclasses here at the school where students have the opportunity to perform for their peers. At recitals twice a year students perform for a larger audience in a recital hall with piano accompaniment. All students are encouraged, but not required, to participate in these events.
Our more advanced students have the opportunity to form duos, trios, quartets, or other chamber ensembles provided, with coaching, by the instructors at Halcyon. There are also opportunities to perform at other venues in Seattle, such as nursing homes and churches.
